Michel Sehstedt, Autodidact.
Michel lives and works in Aalsmeer, the village where he was born in 1969. The paintings of Michel vary in color, composition and atmosphere but there is in all his paintings, an agreement to explore the absurd and thinking. The absurdity is sometimes grotesque, and sometimes in a single detail. The paintings are often based on the life of every day and current events, but it is regularly inspired by the philosophical aspect of it. However, it is not intended to force the viewer to understand his inspiration. The paintings are like the beginning of a story, so the viewer can use there own interpretation and thoughts..
